Hybrid Active Filters: Panacea to Harmonic Distortion Losses in Power Distribution Networks

The Nigerian electric power industry is facing a lot of challenges. From generation to distribution, the system's reliability far below expectation. Modeling hybrid active filters with Matlab/Simulink environment mitigate harmonics stress by non-linear load focus. was connected directly supply, modeled filter in parallel distribution network. consists passive and an system. used low order harmonic current large rating, while rating other high harmonics. Simulink showed effect on network distorting ideal waveform voltage from supply. After simulation, total presented were reduced 23.52% 0.01%, for voltage, it 9.18% 0.27%.
